The Cornerstone Suites

This place is so cute, comfortable, decorated thoughtfully and extra convenient. If you have any need to be in Lake City IA, definitely stay here. Plenty of space, comfy beds, clean, central location....nothing to complain about. There is no on site staff but they respond super quickly to texts with any needs. If I ever need to come back to this quaint little town, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Spent a few days chasing pheasants. The room was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place.

This is a very charming hotel. Each room is themed on a famous artist. The room has that artist's art on the wall with a book about the person on the night stand. This is a wonderfully-renevated older building that is full of charm and character. It's a little off the well-trodden path but worth a stay. I met the owner and she was a wonderful person to talk to.

We booked online only a short time before we arrived. The code to access our keys hadn’t been emailed yet, but after calling, everything was sorted out within minutes by the friendly owner. We stayed in the Larsson suite upstairs, which is bright and spacious. We enjoyed the square across the street, had an excellent breakfast at Sweet Things around the corner, and shopped at the quilt store before leaving. The town is quiet and charming!

Confortable, clean & cute. I was happy staying there. They did a good job with their renovation. Really more of an airbnb than a hotel. I made my reservation online & they texted me a code to pick up my key. There is a room map next to where you get your key. I kinda missed that, so I was a bit confused trying to find the Hopper room (it's got a separate entrance around the corner.) Many of the suites are up a steep staircase. If you do not like stairs make sure you reserve one of the rooms that are ground level. Pleasantly surprised with the tavern across the square with beverages & bar food.

My step-mother stayed here. I saw one of the rooms. Large rooms with high ceilings. Surprisingly nice. Every room is different. Well worth what you pay for.

We have stayed at Cornerstone in Lake City, IA many times. It’s a great location and the rooms are in excellent condition. It’s nice staying where the money stays in the local community. Very fun little local theater across the street with $2 movies on Saturdays. A breakfast place is just around the corner. A drive in restaurant in not far down the road. The owner has always been so kind and responsive if we have any needs. I hope you will come stay and enjoy the treasure of a hotel and town!

This place is beautiful. I had no idea this gem was hidden in plain sight in Lake City. Every room is themed for a different artist and is impeccably decorated. The owners told me that most of the furniture is hand made. The furnishings are soft and well maintained. The whole place is so clean and you can tell that it is well cared for - zero signs of age or wear. I got to tour all of the rooms and they are all quite spacious - most of them have nice sitting areas. They all have nice, full , private bathrooms. Being able to book the rooms online is also a great perk for such a small town. I will definitely be recommending this place to anyone I know who needs a place to stay when they come to the area.
